Yarn: My handspun Renewal

Needles: 4 mm

I got new glasses today

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Today I finally got my new glasses. I havent had new glasses for 7 years (the frame that is, because I have changed the glasses them self). I usally wear contacts, but every now and then I like to use glasses so my eyes get some rest from wearing contacts all the time.

These are my old ones

And these are my new ones, they are green but it dont come across very well in this pic.

Big difference right? I have always had glasses with a thin frame, and never ones that “stood” out like the ones I got today.  I am so pleased with my new glasses!!!

Boooooring Baktus!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I finshed my Baktus scarf, it was a really booooring knit. The only thing that got me through it was working with the loveley Imagination sock yarn and seeing how it worked up. I am so in love with this yarn! The yarn pooled in two places and I think it was so cool because it remined me of the feathers of a Peacock.

Pattern: Baktus

Yarn: Imagination sockyarn in the colorway “seven dwarves”

Needles: 4 mm

I got some new yarns too!

A couple of weeks ago I was at a college giving some freshmen a lecture on daily activities for elderly living in nursinghomes.  Not a big deal, I only spoke to about 25 students for an hour…but I am not a big crowd-talker and I blush, stutter and talk way to fast every time I do something like this. As a thank you I got this gift (scented candles) from the class because as they said; I spread light to the elderly where I work and because I am always thinking of ways to stimulate their senses.

And here is a couple of winterpics taken at my FILs cabin of the Rhododendron in the cabingarden.
