A few days ago my neighbour gave me a bag of fur from her friends Bernese Mountaindog, she had visisted her freind and they were grooming their dog and she thought of me and that I probably would like to try spinning the “dogwool”. Now that is a true friend!!!
I got a big nice and soft fluff from this dog called Shiraz (Not my pic, but I got permission from the owner to post the pic here).

And I decided to spin it as it was because the fiber was already sort of carded from the grooming, and I wanted to see how the fiber acted without blending in any other fiber for strength and such.

And I spun the fibers as two singles with a high twist, so that they would ply nice and tight. The yarn is 52 grams, 61 meters and 12 wpi that would be a sportweight yarn. The fibers in its loose form was very nice and soft, but the finished yarn came out a bit coarse, and I would not prefer to have it next to my skin. But I liked this experience and I have abit of Samoyed and Newfoundland dogfur coming my way soon to try to spin

wow, så gøy! Morsomt med noe helt annerledes
