One of the themes at Spinnershome.net for February is Birchwood. I went right into the basket of firewood to pick up some birch and peel of the bark. I let the bark soak in water for several hours until it was nice and flexible so I could spin it.
I also went into my fiberstash and pick out everything brownish fibers.
